Greetings, gentle readers! I’m back from Geek Girl Con 2017~ I’m sure you’re dying to get back to readers and essays about gender and food, but I have a couple more announcements to get out of the way!
Today’s announcement is that Robin Elan and I will be selling The Corners of Their Mouth at Death Rattle Writer’s Fest on Day 3 (Saturday Oct. 7) for the Book Fair in Nampa, Idaho!
IT’S THE DEATH RATTLE BOOK FAIR! All the wonderful poets and authors participating in this years festival will be here to sell their BOOKS and talk about BOOKS with each and every one of you. There will be all of your favourite local authors with spankin new CHAPBOOKS! There will be all your favourite local comic artists with their COMIC BOOKS. Local ZINES? You bet. And ooh snap and we also have bunches of comics and zines and poetry from independent presses small and large to EXPLORE and discover the FRESHEST stuff all the way from Toronto to L.A.
PreFunk Beer Bar Nampa has graciously made a hell of a deal. When you purchase a book, chapbook, zine, comic, or merch from a vendor/writer you will recieve a ticket to buy a $1.00 Mimosa for those 21 and up. This is an ALL AGES event! Local musican Kathleen Williams will be playing during the event too!
People attending are encouraged to ask authors questions and get to know everybody a little bit better! And fellow authors! This is a great opertunity socialize with each other too. Get LIT AF :3

We’ll be at the Book Fair selling The Corners of Their Mouth, our queer food zine; Robin’s latest solo zine Flora & Fauna: Anxious Human Field Notes, a poignant and hilarious look at dealing with anxiety and depression with nature (not in the “yoga at sunrise” sense); and copies of Grab Back Comics, an anthology of comics about sexual assault for survivors to tell their own stories.
Once we get back, we’ll be putting the remainder of the Corners and Field Notes zines, as well as prints for the “gender reveal” cake and other art online for purchase. Link to follow!
Finally, I want to thank everyone who came by our booth. It was great to chat with you all and to meet other artists and creators. And special thanks to everyone who answered our question “What is the queerest food?”
